Silica Gel Applications
Silica gel is commonly used as an absorbing agent all over the world. It can be available in different forms for different applications. The purpose is the same for all the application, but sometimes the behavior of the application is different like food products, electronics items, machinery...etc. So by considering different application behavior, different form of silica gel is available on the market.
The main applications of silica gel moisture absorber are drying and cleaning of air and gases, drying of analytical samples, drying of solvents, drying of synthesis products, optical instruments, and devices, protection of export consignments from moisture in a salty atmosphere, drying and storage of flowers and seeds.
A desiccant is another form of silica gel. Desiccant is also used as a moisture absorber. It is porous particles. It can absorb a high amount of moisture from the atmosphere as well as from the surroundings of the other products. Therefore it is widely using in industrial applications as a good absorbing agent.
Desiccants are mainly used in the gas industry, dehydration, and purification in Oxygen, Hydrogen, and Chlorine, In the steel refinery industry and oxygen plant, it can be used to remove ethane from oxygen. Etc. Silica Gel is also used in the Dehumidifier. Desiccant Dehumidifier white silica gel is used. Silica Gel is also used in the Analysis of Chemicals.
Silica gel can be used to protect a lot of items from moisture. It can be used in Toolboxes, Storage containers, Safes, and vaults, Silver drawer, Firearms, Photos, Stored vehicles, Cargo hold on RVs, boats, etc, Collectibles (stamps, coins, etc.), Computer, Medical equipment, Leather products, Textiles, Seeds, and jewelry items.
Desiccants are also used in Metal and machine parts, Industrial equipment, Pharmaceuticals and vitamins, Electronics, Military instruments, Circuit Boards, Documents, Instruments, Photographic equipment and film, Foodstuffs, Batteries, Pet foods, and Optical devices.
