Connectors

Connectors

8P8C is short for "eight positions, eight conductors", and so an 8P8C modular cable lug (connector or jack) is a modular connector with eight positions, all containing conductors. The connection is maybe most renowned for its use in LAN and wide used on CAT5 cables.

The 8P8C standard cable lugs and jacks look terribly kind of like the plugs and jacks used for FCC's registered jack RJ45 variants, although the specified RJ45 socket is not compatible with 8P8C modular plug connectors.

It neither uses all eight conductors (but only two of them for wires plus two for connecting a programming resistor) nor does it fit into 8P8C because the true RJ45 is "keyed".

Cable lugs are commonly available all over the world. It is a small element but it is important in the construction fields as well as in organizations.

The D-sub-miniature family of electrical cable connectors is employed in many alternative applications, for computers, telecommunications, and test and measurement instruments.

A few examples are RS-232 serial port on modems and IBM-compatible computers; monitors (MGA, CGA, EGA, VGA cable connector); the Commodore 64, MSX, Apple II, Amiga, and Atari joysticks and mice; game consoles like Atari and Sega; and laptop parallel ports.

Combo D-subminiature that have massive expanse (LSA) contact system that's for low contact resistance and saves energy, and sequential mating options.

Power Connectors

Power connectors should shield individuals from accidental contact with energized conductors. Power connectors typically embody a security ground affiliation also because of the power conductors. In larger sizes, these connectors must also safely contain any arc produced when an energized circuit is disconnected or may require interlocking to prevent opening a live circuit.

Cable connectors and cable plugs are the essential things in industries. There is a lot of manufacturers and suppliers all over the world. You can choose the item depends on your requirement.

cable termination kit and cable lugs

Cable Termination Kit & Cable Lugs

According to the type of cable, type of connector and application, the ways used to terminate the cables will be different. The common types of cable terminations can be classified as:
  • Crimp connection
  • Soldered connection
  • Compression termination
  • Wire-wrapping connection
  • Direct connection
  • Loop or eye connection.
Electrical cable terminations can be classified as four: chip, coaxial, SCSI, and waveguide. To terminate and connect 11kV/33kV cables into medium or high voltage electrical equipment we can use cable termination kit. These electrical equipment can be switchgear, transformer, motor, enclosure or pole-top mounted for overhead line distribution networks.

cable termination

How to connect a termination kit? We can start by making a straight cut in the end of the cable. Then place the connector ferrule over the end of the cable. To meet the required cable diameter and stripping requirements adjust the two- or three-step coax stripping tool.

To connect cables into any electrical appliances or with other cables or surfaces or mechanisms, we can use cable lugs. At the end of the cable terminal kits, we can connect either cable lugs or cable glands to connect it with the devices or cables or machines. One example for the cable lug is the clamps that connect wires to an automotive battery.

Cable lugs can also used to connect fuse sockets, load switches and electrical appliances other than for connecting cables and power lines. Cable lugs are basically three types. One is Plain type. This plain type cable lug is used for general purpose seamless electrical terminals which are not required any installation characteristics.

Another one is mechanical cable lugs. They are available bolted with two screws or with four screws. And the final one is compression lugs or grounding lugs. This lug is welded to a massive structure at one end. The other end contains a hole. When we are using this, a bolt will be placed through the hole of the cable lug.

cable cleat and cable lug suppliers

Cable Cleats and Lugs

What Are Cable Cleats? Cable cleat can be explained as an equipment designed to give safety of cords when installed at intervals along the length of cords, according to IEC 61914. Cable cleats give resistance to electromechanical forces. Cable cleats are available in different sizes as well as in different materials.

Cable cleats are lines to fix and support the cable and wires. We can securely tie the cables by using cable cleats. It is possible to adjust the size according to the size of the cables and wires. They can give effective short circuit protection, support and retention to LV, MV and HV power string systems when installed at intervals to circuits to secure electrical installations.
cable cleat
Simply we can say that string cleats are used to secure, fix and route electrical lines in the positions needed in an electrical installation. Cable cleats should help inordinate cable movement due to fault-current glamorous forces. It can play the part of a string fixing unit to avoid movements.

Cable lugs are bias used for connecting lines to electrical appliances, other lines, shells, or mechanisms. One of the common example of a cable lug is the cable clamps that connect wires to an automotive battery, as the terminals of battery jumper wires. Electrical cable lugs are used when permanent connection isn't possible between electrical devices or wires.

Cable lugs allows easy installation, form and conservation of electrical equipment or wires. Most common use of cable lugs is connecting one cable with another cable or connection more than two wires. Cable lugs are bias used for connecting lines to electrical appliances, other lines, shells, or mechanisms.

Cable lugs can be divided into three groups such as Compression cable lugs according to DIN 46235. Tubular cable lugs is one of the common type of  cable lugs and it is available in standard types. Solderless outstations according to DIN 46234.

Cable lugs and cable cleats

Cable Lugs and Cable Cleats

A cable lug is really important when you are trying to connect with a machine or device to a cable. But before buying a cable lug from any local suppliers, you should know whether the crimping tool that you have is compatible or not? Cable lugs should be properly crimped, otherwise, it will make an increase in joint resistance, creating heat and in the worst case, a fire.

A hexagonal crimp form is a preferred style for most installers. It looks neat and creates a good connection. To create a perfect result (OD & ID) a hexagonal crimp is very size specific to the diameter of the cable lugThe crimp will not compress enough if the Cu tube size is smaller than that of the designed die.

If the Cu tube is too large, the crimp will create a flash or ‘ears’ on the side of the connector. Sometimes, the installer will file these off which reduces the amount of Cu in the lug and creates a high resistance connection. When a suitable system is used only all the cable lugs can be crimped properly.

Cable Cleats

Cable cleats are used to hold the cables together to avoid unwanted movements. A wide range of cable cleats is available. Specifically designed cable cleats for use within industrial areas and hazardous locations are also available.
cable cleat suppliers
Cable cleats are used for many different big level applications such as rail, underground, oil and gas, mining, and petrochemical. They’re the perfect accompaniment to our extensive range of cable glands. They are available in different sizes and styles.

The range is tested in accordance with IEC 61914 to ensure that, regardless of the cable formation used on the installation, there is a suitable cable cleat. as a commonly available device in the market, cable cleats are available with different quality and prices also. But always choose the best quality if you need it for a long term project.

junction box and cable lugs

Junction Box and Cable Lugs

A junction box is a common and familiar device to all. It is really important to protect people from the flow of electrical current. An industrial junction box is an electrical enclosure that securely unites multiple cables and wires through various ports of entry.

Junction box suppliers

Junction boxes are available in different sizes, and the size of it is depending on the number and type of connections required. A junction box performs many important functions. Safety is always the primary thing. A junction box serves to keep people and animals away from living electrical connections. The enclosure helps to avoid contact of outside elements with the terminations.

Standard junction boxes are using for simple power distribution applications. It can measure 2 x 3 x 2.5 inches and can hold up to three wires. Normally we are using it in houses. Large size junction boxes are used in industrial level applications. And that are often custom-built to support many different types of wire and cable entering and exiting the box. The junction box can be mounted either on a building or on machinery.

Cable Lugs

Cable Lugs are used to connect cables and wires to the devices. The connection should be proper always. Otherwise, it can harm people or animals or their surroundings also. Cable lugs are really helpful to make a proper connection.

Cable Lug Suppliers

If you stripped the cable to connect with a device and removed its outer insulated area, then that cable must have a non-insulated dangerous portion. Touching that part while flowing current can make a big loss to humans. Therefore that part must be connected to the device properly. Cable lugs have a part to insert non-insulated area of cables and wires.

It is not easy to connect a bare non-insulated part of cable with a device. the copper wires will scatter then. If it touches any other metallic part of the device can pass the electricity through it. To avoid the scattering of the copper cables, cable lugs are a really important element.

Cable Lugs

Cable Lugs

An electrical connector is an electro-mechanical device accustomed to being a part of electrical terminations (Cable gland) and make a circuit. Electrical connectors accommodate plugs (male-ended) and jacks (female-ended). The association is also temporary, as for moveable instrumentality, need a tool for assembly and removal, or function a permanent electrical joint between 2 wires or devices. An adapter is accustomed to effectively collect dissimilar connectors.

Hundreds of styles of Cable lugs are factory-made for power, signal and management applications. Connectors might be a part of 2 lengths of versatile copper wire or cable or connect a wire or cable to an electrical terminal.

In computing, an electrical connector can also be known as a physical interface (compare physical layer in the OSI model of networking). Cable glands, called cable connectors within the United States, connect wires to devices automatically instead of electrically and area unit distinct from quick-disconnects playing the latter.

Cable Lugs are characterized by their pinout and physical construction, size, contact resistance, insulation between pins, ruggedness, and resistance to vibration, resistance to entry of water or other contaminants, resistance to pressure, reliableness, lifespan (number of connecting/disconnect operations before failure), and ease of connecting and disconnecting.

They may be keyed to forestall insertion within the wrong orientation, connecting the incorrect pins to every different, and have locking mechanisms to ensure that they are fully inserted and cannot work loose or fall out.

cable lug suppliers UAE

Some Cable Lugs are designed such as bound pins build contact before others once inserted, and break initial on disconnection; this protects circuits usually in connectors that apply power, e.g. connecting safety ground initial, and sequencing connections properly in hot-swapping applications.

It is sometimes fascinating for a connection to be simple to spot visually, fast to assemble, require only simple tooling, and be inexpensive. In some cases associate instrumentation manufacturer may opt for a connection specifically as a result of it's not compatible with those from different sources, allowing control of what may be connected. Cable glands can give a good solution.

No single connection has all the best properties; the proliferation of varieties could be a reflection of differing needs. Fretting could be a common failure mode in electrical connectors that haven't been specifically designed to forestall it.
