Cable Ties & Cable Tags

Cable ties are commonly fabricated from nylon grade 6.6 and are used to bundle items, usually wires. Cable ties are available in different sizes for different uses. There are different types of cable ties and different applications: Cable ties help to group cables together. They are created for indoor and outside use and vary in composition.

Cable Ties

Natural Cable Ties: They are usually constructed from 6.6 nylon grade. All ties should meet a flammability resistance requirement, which is indicated by the manufacturer. Many of these ties are manually adjusted and there are some pneumatic tools available to help reduce installation time. These ties are appropriate for general purpose applications and are resistant to chemicals, grease, and oil-based products. higher temperature nylon generally includes nylon grade 4.6.

UV Protected Cable Ties: These are known as Black cable Ties. These types of cable ties are mainly used for outdoor applications. They are different from natural cable ties. Because of the outdoor applications, they are resistant to natural contaminants. Highly resistant to oils and grease. These cables are commonly used for applications that require a high tensile holding strength and are often manufactured in nylon 12-grade material.

Cable Tags:

Cable tags are used as an identification system to distinguish the different purpose cables easily. In an organization or in a big firm, there should be a lot of cables and wires. It should not be easy to handle.

But we can use cable tags to differentiate each cable. Based on their purpose we can give different names. We can use custom mode tags as well as ready-made tags. Cable tags are available in all over UAE. Many companies are there as cable tag suppliers in UAE

Sometimes cable ties are also available from there. For example FAS Arabia LLC. They are the authorized cable tie suppliers in UAE as well as cable tag suppliers in UAE

Band-IT Dubai

Cable ties are a common element that we can see every day in our life. They have different uses. Cable ties are available in different sizes, types, colors, and with different materials. Based on our requirement we can choose any cable tie. All the cable ties are not the same and they are not for the same purposes.

Earlier we were using plastic cable ties for most of the applications. But after the introduction of stainless steel cable ties from Band-IT, many of the plastic cable tie applications are replaced with the stainless steel cable ties. Because they are very durable.

In 1958 by an electrical manufacturing company in America was first invented and patented cable ties, they are Thomas & Betts company. They have introduced the cable ties under the brand name 'Ty-Rap'. The cable ties' basic design has been changed since they were first created. Initially, they were designed for airplane wire harnesses.

For tying bundles of cables together a normal, nylon cable tie is enough. But it can also be used for securing wires to poles or other devices as well as tying wires and cables to the frames of bicycles or unruly plants to garden fences. UV protected black cable ties are giving more strength.

Band-IT is offering different types of stainless steel cable ties. Let's see the tensile strength of each cable tie.

Standard Cable Ties - 50 lbs.

Light Heavy Duty Cable Ties - 120 lbs.

Heavy Duty Cable Ties - 175 lbs.

Extra Heavy Duty Cable Ties - 250 lbs.

The main advantages of Band-IT stainless steel cable ties are, they can be used for either indoor or outdoor applications. It can last for long years without any damages. No need to think about any replacement or periodical checking. Once we installed, we can forget.

Cable theft is a growing problem worldwide

Cable Tie issues are solved by the entry of Band-IT cable ties. At the same time, the next problem arrived in the form of cable theft. Cable theft is happening around the world, but in South Africa, it's fast becoming a national crisis. Estimates put the loss between 5-7 billion Rand (423 - 593 million USD) a year, with serious implications for the country’s economy, reliability of electricity supply and security.

Can cable ties solve the problem? Cable thefts will make problems for power outages that can last for a long time, with copper cable thefts constituting more than 90% of all these thefts. The cost of replacing the metal has a significant disruptive effect on the industry and contributes to increased tariffs and prices for ordinary South Africans. Furthermore, the replacement of stolen cables has to take preference for essential maintenance.

Around the world, theft becomes a serious issue. It considered an economical loss around the globe. Thieves can make money easily by reselling stolen cables. Band IT tried to resolve this issue by introducing their new product into the global market.

Tamper-resistant Ultra-Lok clamps

To deter theft, the safety of any traditional cable installation is often increased by applying an Ultra-Lok cable tie as frequently as every 150mm cable. Recently Band-IT Ultra-Lok clamp's effectiveness was proved in August 2015 at a client site.

The client operates in the petrochemical industry, where conveyor belts are located in secluded areas and are difficult to monitor making cable theft monitoring a major challenge. The verdict, after watching various BAND IT ties, was that the Ultra-Lok open-end clamp and installation tool would be the simplest suited to the client’s projects.

BAND IT provided training to the operators that installed the clamps, and the team was tasked with supplying the client with application tools and clamps. The features of Alloy 625 Ultra-Lok Clamps are its mobile, fast, consistent clamping installation...etc and providing high clamping force and gap-free inside diameter with a battery-powered tool.
