By using as a moisture absorber silica gel is having a good market in the food industry. Usually, silica gel looks like porous sand that can be used in dehydrated and dried foods by keeping moisture away from the containers. It will help to keep dried items as fresh and in this way the life span of the food products can be increased.

The tiny packets of silica gel can be found with many other products. Actually, silica gel is a desiccant, therefore, it absorbs and retains water vapor with ease. In leather objects and food items such as pepperoni, the lack of moisture can easily control the growth of mild and in this way it can reduce the spoilage.

We can see silica gel along with some medicines. Especially if the tablets are placed freely inside bottles, there is a lot of chances to get spoiled easily by opening the bottle cap each time to take tablets. Every time, the air is entering the bottle and it is circulating through the bottle. Due to this air presence, tablets will absorb and hold the water content and this will lead to the changes in the composition of the chemicals inside it.

To avoid such problems, small silica gel packets are placing inside the medicine bottles, especially Ayurveda medicines. Because this will have more water presence.
