Embossing machines can do two different operations, one is embossing and another one is cutting. Embossing is the process in order to get the “pop-out" effect, making raised designs on a surface. Piercing is a process of making holes in different materials including fabric. There are some other tools to make holes. Embossing machines are not used to make holes. It can make bulging the material. It will look like printed on it.
Embossing and engraving are different works. Metal Engraving is the carving or cutting of designs on a harder surface such as metals. By depends on the quality, whether or not a machine offers extra features like this. High-quality models have more features than low-quality ones.
Metal engraving is actually a type of art. We can make different artworks with engraving tools. For example, on the gold ornaments, the designs are making by using small engraving hand tools. Also, decorations work can be done with engraving tools. Different materials can be used to engrave. But depends on the materials, tools used for engraving also be different.
