As all the types of identification methods such as cable marking and area marking, pipe marking is also a type of identification technique. It can be done by using different materials. For example, we can write on the pipes by using marking pens or paints, we can put stickers, also we can place some tags on the pipes.
We have discussed the cable marking techniques before. But the pipe marking technique is more important than cable marking. Because cable marking we are doing to save our time in the future to distinguish each cable easily. But this pipe marking is giving some serious information to the employees as well as to the concerned people.
It is more dangerous to handle pipes in a factory or plant without understanding what is inside it. So this pipe marking has an important role even in the life-saving. Pipe marking is considered as critical for worker safety because insufficient system knowledge can lead to injury and death.

Industrial pipe marking has a major role in any facility’s complex pipe infrastructure. Properly marked pipes are very important to work within the same environment without any accidental hazards. I t can provide essential information where it is needed most, improving safety and increasing efficiency.
The importance of pipe marking can be understood with an incident. On Feb. 29, 2012, four people were using a cutting torch to demolish an out-of-service petroleum pipe. The pipe had not been purged in over a year. It contained vapors that resulted in an explosion and flash fire.
All four workers were scalded, burned, and taken to the hospital. Two were released after 24 hours; the other two remained hospitalized for an extended period of time. All the types of identifications such as area, pipe, and cable marking are important.
