Oxygen Absorbers
In the modern days, Many food and non-food items are importing and exporting to long distances, So we have to make sure the item is fresh and unspoiled till they reach their final destination because it is very important. This is where the role of oxygen absorbers or oxygen scavengers, becomes important. Nowadays the use of oxygen absorbers is increasing day by day. So what are oxygen absorbers and why are they so much in demand?
Oxygen Absorbers are small packets containing iron powder which helps to absorb oxygen. The material of the oxygen absorber packets allows oxygen and moisture to enter but it restricts iron powder to leak out. Therefore the oxygen absorber is safe to place on top of food.
Moisture absorbers are available in different forms. We can choose it depends on our application. It includes ferrous oxygen absorbers as well as non-ferrous oxygen absorbers. Ferrous carbonate and metal halide catalyst are the main content of ferrous oxygen absorbers. Acerbate, sodium hydrogen carbonate are containing in non-ferrous oxygen absorbers. It is another version of silica gel.
Look at the image, it is a spoiled walnut. Because of the moisture or wet, the walnut becomes spoiled. Some times we will be lost the crunchiness of the nuts. sometimes it will shrink to the center of the shells. All these are happening because of moisture or atmosphere wet drops. In this situation, moisture absorbers can help us to prevent these issues.
Now Look at this image. This shows a fresh walnut. Place a moisture absorber packet besides the walnut. It can help to absorb the wet and moisture. Place the nuts with an oxygen absorber inside a glass jar or airtight jar. Check it after a few days, and compare it with the nuts placed in a jar without oxygen absorbers. So you can see the difference!!!
