Wire and cable markers are used as an identification system. In industries and offices, it is used as an easy way to differentiate each cable. It is really helpful at the time of changes and repairs. No need to get confused.

Wire markers and cable markers are used to mark or label cables or wires. Before or after termination we can do wire marking. There are different types of markers available in different sizes and in different colors. When we are choosing these products, we have to consider the materials of construction and certifications or approvals.

Wire marker and cable marker includes different categories like dot-matrix labels, dot matrix ribbons, laser labels, laser sheets, pre-printed markers, and self-laminating labels. It also includes thermal transfer labels and thermal transfer ribbons, tags, and wire wraps.

Different types of markers are:

1. Dot-matrix labels and ribbons are designed to use with dot matrix printers.

2. Self-laminating labels consist of a part that will wrap around and laminate the cable. This will helps to protect the printed area from exposure to oil, water or other contaminants.

3. Thermal printers need thermal transfer labels or thermal transfer ribbons. 

4. Heat shrink tubing is available in different sizes, colors, and materials to suit different applications.

5. Wire wraps are used to stick or wrap on the wire, it has a printable side and an adhesive side. When it wraps the wire, it should be visible from all sides.

6. Sleeve Markers is used before termination because it will be slipped over the open end of the wire. They provide some flexibility before they are heat-shrunk around the wires. But once they are shrunk it should be permanent.

7. Pre-printed markers are available for different uses. but normally custom markers are used.

8. Printable markers offer more flexibility and provide a better option when long and multiple characters required.

9. Cable ties are normally used to bundle wires and cables together, they have space available for marking.

10. Laser labels and label sheets are designed to use with laser printers.
