Metal and Plastic Cable Ties
Stainless steel cable ties and nylon-coated ties both have a range of home and industrial uses, but the plastic-based variety is used almost exclusively to ensure product safety in the foodservice industry. Regardless of your application, there are a few things to understand about working with metal cable ties.
When to Use a Metal Cable Tie
Metal cable ties and stainless steel cable ties are ideal for securing:
- Anything that will experience extreme weather
- Anything that weighs over 100 pounds
They can be purchased in a variety of different lengths and materials to ensure that the cable tie is the proper tensile strength and is best suited for all of your needs. All these cable ties are used for holding cables or wires together to avoid separation. Sometimes our application will be bigger than normal cables or wires. And if it is hose or pipe, or the area is outdoor, in these cases, stainless steel cable ties are the better option.
Cable Tags with Ties
Plastic cable ID tags, ties and pipe markers are perfect for convenient labeling of cables and wires. Adjustable size allows for the tagging of many different gauges or bundles of cables.
Advantage of a cable ID tag:
If you're at your desk and need to unplug one of your monitors, but accidentally pull the plug to your entire computer. An hour's worth of work is gone in an instant. You're stuck while the computer re-starts and now you need to stay after hours to meet your deadline. In this situation, you will definitely think about cable ID tags.
Well, if you have been there, you know that it is an unpleasant situation that could have easily been prevented if you only took your time finding the right wire. You wouldn't have even had to worry about taking your time if you had cable ID tags that would tell you right off the bat which wire belongs to what.
