Silica gel in the industrial applications
Silica gel is the most common product in industrial applications. its use and applications are increasing day by day. It indicates that in the next 5 years, it will have a huge hype in the market. It is available in 3 colors commonly such as white, blue and orange. But the color indicating gels have an ability to change its color while absorbing moisture.
Blue, White, and Orange silica gels are diverse and cost-effective for various industrial applications to various industries where require the adsorption and removal of moisture elements during processing and packaging.
In the market, it is available a wide range of silica gel (indicating and non-indicating) which can be used in different industries based on their adsorbent requirement. High quality of silica gel (Non - indicating) which is non-toxic, non-flammable, organic, DMF free, and no hazardous for food and drug packaging products.
Another common name for silica gel is desiccant. In most places, it is known as a desiccant. but both are the same. For different applications, a different type of silica gel is available on the market. The purpose and content are the same for all the products. However, it is manufactured with little changes for different industrial applications.
The main purpose of all the types od desiccants is absorbing moisture from the surroundings of any products. It can not place in the open air. Because it will start absorbing moisture from the atmosphere at the time of removal of the lid. Therefore wherever we are seeing silica gel or desiccant, it should be inside the packets, cans or bags.
Regeneration of silica gel
Once silica desiccant is saturated with water, the indicating gel can be regenerated by heating it to 100-120 degrees Celcius for 1-2 hours. When it completely regenerated, they will regain all of its abilities as the new product. It can return to its original color also.
