These two standards for pipe marking tapes developed by a coalition of ten U.S. states and one Canadian province are part of the 10 States Standards —Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Ontario.
These standards are normally applicable only to these ten states. But other states are also following it, they are considering it as the baseline of their own standards.
