QTEQ has chosen pre-cut Band-IT clamping solutions to reduce hand injuries.

QTEQ employees were facing difficulties to cut the clamps for the specific uses. Finally, they approached Band-IT for a good solution to the sharp edges that were the results of cutting roll band to length. Band-IT offered pre-cut BAND-IT Clamps with seals. It is cost-effective and providing high quality for the life-time. Replacement or reinstallation is not required.

If the employees are cutting the bands as per the length on the live spot, it will be too much complicated. Pre-cut Band-IT clamps had a smoother finished edge than the bands cut to length on-site. Pre-cut band-IT clamps reduced helped to save the time of employees. While the bands were more expensive to purchase, the benefits were immediate.

Zero hand injuries reported from QTEQ after switching to the new banding with more than 300,000 units installed safely. 30% reduction in glove wear rate due to the reduced abrasion in the pre-cut Band-IT clamp. This product can be saved 20 minutes from every installation. By the way, there must be a big difference in the complete installation time. 

Installation: xe4809 from pneumatic combination tool. BAND-IT recommends the XE4809 Fromm tool which tensions, seals, and cuts the bands for installing the 3/4" (19mm) BAND-FAST bands with seals. Plastic cable ties can't withstand harsh environments. Therefore, stainless steel cable ties developed by Band-IT. and stainless steel cable ties replaced plastic ties in a harsh environment.

Band-it cable ties made from high-quality metals. Due to the highly-corrosive atmosphere, as even 304 stainless steel is subject to rust after an extended period, the conditions in the refinery complex are unique. Because of this, the specific requirement was for high-strength, durable clamping solutions to cater for these challenging conditions. At first, the company was using plastic cable ties for the facility’s electric cables. Plastic cable ties are proved not durable in the harsh operating environment.

Over a five-month period, Banding & ID Solutions Africa has been upgrading the tying system used on the cables at the refinery complex using a mixture of reusable Band-It cable ties. To date, it has supplied about 10,000 reusable Band-It cable ties to the company.
