A Carabiner is a metal-enclosed structure or loop, that can be open on one side. This part is called the gate of the carabiner. The other side will be closed forever. The word carabiner comes from the German word "Karabinerhaken". Its meaning is "hook for a carbine". Normally carabiners are very strong.

Carabiners are used as a part of rope access equipment. Generally, climbing carabiners are very strong. Because these carabiners need to lift heavyweight.
