Ink Ribbon and Ferrule Printer

An ink ribbon is a common module to perform the function of pigment transformation to paper in various devices for impact printing. Generally, an ink ribbon is an important part of standard designs for hand-driven or motor-driven typewriters, teleprinters, stenotype machines, computer-driven printers, and many mechanical calculators.

The ink ribbon module contains a length of a medium, either pigment-impregnated woven ribbon or pigment-coated polymer tape, and a transport mechanism involving two axles.  The axles will rotate and it moves the ribbon or tape after each impact and usually aids in maintaining tension along the roughly straight-line path of the medium between the axles.

The ink ribbon module has its own mechanisms that control the tension in the temporarily unwound portion of the medium. Some typewriter ribbons have two different colored pigments (usually black and red) which could be selected if the typewriter had a switch to allow for words or sentences to be written in a different color when required.

Ferrule Printer

When we are talking about industrial printers, the most important one is the ferrule printer. Ferrule printers are used to print on the cables. It is commonly known as a Cable ID printer. As the name indicates, it is used for cable identification purposes. To distinguish a specific cable or wire from a bundle of cables, marking on it is very important. It can make the job easy.

There are several methods to do cable marking or cable identification. But the best out of it is Ferrule printers. Because the output will be accurate and sharp. It offers a high-speed result. The print will last for long years without any fade or damage. So for long time purposes, the ferrule printing technique is the best.

By using ferrule printers we can't print directly on the cables. We are using ferrule tubes. Inserting cables or wires into the ferrule tubes, and printing on the tubes itself. Ferrule tubes will be available in different sizes to match the size of the cables. It should be the correct fit with the cables to get proper output.
