Rope Access Equipment
Rope access is a system which is used in areas that other equipment can't reach simply. This can be used in many different areas from confined spaces to tower sites. In rope access there are many advanced techniques to suit all type of environments. Because many environments are not easy to work with.
The method rope access is using various rope access equipment along with a rope. The rope used to perform rope access work also not the normal one. There are some specific characteristics to choose a rope and this should be a semi static rope. Static rope and dynamic rope also using in some cases as per the behavior of the work.
Rope access can be used to perform many type of inspections such as piping, columns, vessels, supports, and other structures. Rope access technicians are doing various inspections by using rope access equipment with nondestructive testing (NDT) methods. The reason for this is the work can be completed in a safe and timely manner.
How does a rope access system work? Rope access system allow workers to perform different activities. Descend, ascend, and traverse ropes all these could be perform easily while connecting to a harness or seat. Rope Access technique is a dual rope system, this is used as a back-up rope for workers in case their primary rope system fails.
Rope access has different levels. Internationally there are 3 levels. Personal rope access equipment of a level 1 rope access technician can be inspected by themselves. It will be under their responsibility. Under the guidance of a higher level person, level 1 technicians are able to assist in rigging and non-standard operations.
These technicians are able to undertake a rescue involving descent by him/herself and have a knowledge of hauling systems. And all these certifications will be done by IRATA International. The system rope access has been developed by them itself.
