High Quality Fasteners - BAND-IT

High Quality Fasteners - BAND-IT

BAND-IT’S 3/8” TIE-LOK® tie does the trick for smaller and lighter EGR coolers currently being installed on light duty and passenger vehicles. Currently holding a lot of heat shields on these vehicles from the maniverter to the muffler and each pipe in between, TIE-LOK® Ties have proven themselves capable of surviving an extremely harsh environment.

TIE-LOK® Ties bring that pedigree to the EGR cooler application to enable mounting bracket attachment without welding and welding’s many weaknesses in these harsh environments. Band-it specializes in attaching irregular shapes, vibration, thermal cycling, and corrosion resistance. These challenges and many more have been solved for many of the largest OEMs in the world.

We can be found on products and vehicles built by Boeing, Airbus, JPL, NASA, Lockheed Martin, General Motors, Ford, FCA, Nissan, Audi, Mercedes Benz, Caterpillar, Halliburton, Schlumberger, and many more. Band-IT fasteners are used in the tr-343 transducer assembly. Band-it ultra-lok® alloy 625 clamps protect rubber boot on tr-343 transducer elements.

Let's see one of the applications of Band-IT Fasteners. A key component of sonar systems for surface military vessels is the AN/SQS-53C Sonar array, made up of 576 TR-343 Transducers, the array is located in the "bulb" on the bow just below the water surface. Each of these transducers contains a gumboot or sleeve secured with an ULTRA-LOK Alloy 625 band.

Band-it fasteners identified as the only source for some of the specific applications. During the sourcing process, the United States Navy identified BAND-IT because of the only responsible source capable of providing the specified supplies. For specific applications, specific measurements and tolerances are required. Band-IT products can meet all these parameters by the skilled manufacturing processes.

Citing the potential for delays and non-recovered costs, the agency chose BAND-IT because the only approved manufacturer supported performance and testing requirements of the Critical Item Production Fabrication Specifications (CIPFS) for the Transducer.
