Activated Alumina - Water Treatment

Activated alumina is normally used for water treatment. It can remove a variety of substances including excessive fluoride, arsenic, and selenium from the water. The process that is the removal of the fluoride is based on adsorption on the activated alumina surface. Therefore the water treatment process using activated alumina becomes popular.

Before using the calcinated activated alumina for NMW treatment, an initialization process is applied. Impurities are removed from the media or decreased to a level that leaching of trace elements does not occur, during this process. The leaching of the main component, aluminum, depends on the pH and composition of the treated water.

Besides the initialization procedure, the activated alumina requires periodic cleaning with an appropriate regenerating agent in order to remove absorbed substances and to restore the absorption capacity.

Silica Gel - Moisture Absorber

Silica gel is a desiccant it is used to absorb moisture from the surroundings. Because of the high-absorption capacity and inactivity with other substances makes silica gel more favorite product in between the industrial applications. It is cost-effective also.

In leather objects and food items such as pepperoni, the moisture presence can spoil the products easily.
